About Let's Get Ready!

OUR MISSION AND VISION:

OUR VISION: Let's Get Ready envisions a world where students from all socioeconomic backgrounds have equal access to the support they need to reach higher education.

THE MISSION of Let’s Get Ready is to expand college access for motivated, low-income high school students by providing FREE SAT preparation and college admission counseling.

Let’s Get Ready accomplishes this mission by enlisting college student volunteers who serve as coaches in the program providing not only SAT instruction, but the inspiration, enthusiasm and confidence to go to college as well. Utilzing these college students as the organization’s backbone enables Let’s Get Ready to provide our high school participants with the mentoring power of our college student volunteers as well as invaluable help with the entire college application process in a cost-efficient manner.

OUR IMPACT

In 2009, LGR ran 52 programs throughout the northeast serving about 2,109 students with the assistance of 850 college volunteers.
Let's Get Ready has guided more than 9,500 under-served students through the college process.
Let's Get Ready has trained and supported 4,000 college student volunteers with outstanding results.
90% of Let's Get Ready students go directly to college after high school.
Many Let’s Get Ready high school students RETURN to the program to become coaches and site directors.
On average, LGR students increase their SAT scores by 110 points.

2010

In 2010, LGR is on track to run 58 programs serving 2,320 high school students and engaging more than 900 college student volunteers in programs from Philadelphia (PA) to Mascoma (NH).
