New England Regional Director

Position Summary: Reporting to LGR’s Executive Director in New York City, the New England Regional Director will be based in Boston and charged with overall responsibility for the successful implementation of the organization’s work throughout New England. Currently, the New England office serves 1,100 low-income students within 29 programs in New England, with the largest group in MA. Directly overseeing a staff of two program specialists who are responsible for managing 60 paid college student Directors and 450 college student volunteers, the Regional Director will focus significantly on fundraising; managing and expanding a strong New England Advisory Board; initiating and deepening robust relationships with college, high school and community partners; and overseeing the meeting of programmatic objectives

Organization Description: Let's Get Ready (LGR) is a dynamic and fast growing non-profit committed to increasing college access for under-served youth. Harnessing the power and expertise of motivated college students, LGR guides and equips high school students through the college admissions process. Providing intensive SAT preparation and key assistance with college selection, applications and financial aid/scholarship opportunities, LGR fills a critical gap in college access support.
Position Responsibilities:
Fundraising
• In partnership with LGR Director of Development, drive fundraising in New England to establish ongoing stream of local philanthropic revenue to cover New England operating costs.
• Solicit individual donations through major gifts and annual giving; plan special events
• Identify, develop and manage relationships with New England region corporate and foundation donors
• Prepare funding proposals and reports
• Work closely with New England team to sustain and build fee for service income from local partners
New England Advisory Board
• Manage and grow a visible and active Advisory Board of community, business, civic and education leaders to support fundraising, programmatic and strategic growth objectives.
Strategic Planning and Partnerships
• In partnership with LGR Executive Director and New England team, lead strategic planning for New England region, establish and strengthen partnerships with senior level community partners (educational and community organizations), business leaders, community organizations and government officials.
Administration, Staff and Program Management
• Oversee and manage New England office operations and program team to ensure quality performance
• Oversee critical relationships with college, high school and community partners
• Primary responsibility for direct supervision of select programs
• Prepare and monitor New England office budget in partnership with LGR Executive Director
• Provide collaborative leadership to passionately committed team of LGR staff, interns, and volunteers
• Work closely with Executive Director at LGR headquarters to provide timely feedback and reports
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of management experience in fast-paced, growth-oriented nonprofit or social enterprise environment; previous board management experience preferred
• Significant experience and proven track record in fundraising
• Have established networks in Boston and New England philanthropic, nonprofit and/or education orgs.
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Engaging communicator and problem-solver who is comfortable with diverse constituencies
• Entrepreneurial and driven but also flexible and highly collaborative
• Excellent public speaking, writing and editing skills
• Mature judgment with a high level of personal and professional integrity
• Passion for improving the life opportunities of underserved youth.
