LGR Award

The Summit YMCA Honors Let’s Get Ready

Since 2003, LGR has worked in partnership with the Summit YMCA to provide SAT and college preparation to more than 150 New Jersey students. To recognize the impact and success of this partnership, the Summit YMCA presented an award to LGR at its Community Achievement Dinner on July 16th.

LGR’s Executive Director, Lauri Novick, accepted the honor saying, “Summit LGR is a model of how non-profit organizations can work together to achieve a common goal. We are honored to receive the Community Partnership Award and we are grateful for the dedication of the Summit YMCA’s staff.”

The summer Summit LGR program was founded by Cristina Thompson when she was an undergraduate at Brown University. Cristina’s vision for bringing LGR to New Jersey was made possible when she found a host and champion in the Summit YMCA and its Director of Community Development - Janet Maulbeck.

This summer, the Summit LGR program is being held every Tuesday and Thursday evening at the Summit YMCA.
