Apply For A Site Director or Assistant Site Director Position

The unique opportunity to coordinate a college access program distinguishes Let’s Get Ready director positions as an emerging premier non-profit internship experience. Each LGR program is run by two college students as either a Site Director or an Assistant Site Director. Directors are introduced to the economic, political, social, and psychological factors that influence access to educational opportunity. These unique paid internship opportunities engage students at the college level in intensive work in the fields of education, non-profit management and community building.

                     Director Responsibilities

To Apply to an LGR program in New England: Please email your completed LGR Spring Director Application and additional materials to Matthew Boyce, Program Manager, at mboyce@letsgetready.org. Don't forget to include the name of the New England program(s) to which you are applying. The fall application deadline is December 12, 2008.

We are seeking applicants for the following New England LGR Site:

  • Tufts LGR (ASD)

Details:

  • Academic year positions are part-time (15-20 hours per week) from September to December and January to May.
  • Summer director positions are full-time (30-40 hours per week) from June to September.

Qualifications: Eligible applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at a participating university or college; have experience and/or interest in working with high school youth; possess strong organizational, communication and leadership skills; and be willing to take initiative. Previous LGR coaching (tutoring) experience is not required, but those who have coached before are strongly encouraged to apply.

Academic Year Compensation: Site Director: $2,000/semester Assistant Site Director: $1,500/semester Summer Term Compensation: Site Director: $2,500/semester Assistant Site Director: $2,000/semester

Students eligible for Federal Work-Study may be paid through their college/university's Federal Work-Study program at rates higher than those listed here. LGR, if requested, will complete paperwork so that directors may earn independent study credit.
