The unique opportunity to coordinate a college access program distinguishes Let’s Get Ready director positions as an emerging premier non-profit internship experience. Each LGR program is run by two college students as either a Site Director or an Assistant Site Director. Directors are introduced to the economic, political, social, and psychological factors that influence access to educational opportunity. These unique paid internship opportunities engage students at the college level in intensive work in the fields of education, non-profit management and community building.

Details:

  • Summer director positions are full-time (30-40 hours per week) from May to August.

Qualifications: Eligible applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate university program; have experience and/or interest in working with high school youth; possess strong organizational, communication and leadership skills; and be willing to take initiative. Previous LGR coaching (tutoring) experience is not required, but those who have coached before are strongly encouraged to apply.Former Let's Get Ready students are also strongly encouraged to apply.

Summer Term Compensation: Site Director: $2,250/semester Assistant Site Director: $1,750/semester

Students eligible for Federal Work-Study may be paid through their college/university's Federal Work-Study program at rates higher than those listed here. LGR, if requested, will complete paperwork so that directors may earn independent study credit.
