Let’s Get Ready (LGR) has partnered with the Meeting Street Scholarship Fund, serving nine counties and counting, in South Carolina, to support students to and through college by providing FREE text-based mentorship and direct coaching support through college graduation.

Scholarship dollars and near-peer mentoring is a powerful combination to help students achieve their college aspirations by addressing the financial, social and emotional hurdles they face through college completion. The Meeting Street Scholarship Fund helps make college dreams become a reality for students who have academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. LGR joins them in this mission to ensure that students are able to thrive as they work their way towards graduation. Together, we are helping over 240 college students become one degree closer to achieving their dreams.

College enrollment remains below pre-pandemic levels and tuition is becoming increasingly unaffordable, which is why we avidly support efforts to DOUBLE PELL and are excited to support Pell-eligible students in this way. We led a workshop at the Meeting Street Class of 2022 Scholarship Recipient Ceremony to connect with and help students prepare for the navigations of college life, and also understand the direct mentorship and support that will be available to them. We congratulate this year’s Meeting Street Scholars, and anticipate incredible accomplishments from them in the years to come.

“The Meeting Street Scholarship Fund exists to make a college degree possible for high-achieving South Carolina students with limited means to pay for college.  While the remarkable Scholarship of up to $40,000 per student is a game-changer, we know that first-generation student success depends on more than just covering costs of college. We are excited to partner with Let’s Get Ready, and chose to offer this resource to the hundreds of Meeting Street Scholarship recipients to ensure they receive support, coaching, and encouragement to achieve their ambitious goals.” Josh Bell, Executive Director, Meeting Street Scholarship Fund

“We’re excited about partnerships like these because an ecosystem approach to student support is critical to address the inequities that exist in our higher education institutions. Near-peer coaching is a proven intervention to help students navigate complex systems, AND students in our programs often raise financial concerns to their coaches. By partnering with organizations like Meeting Street, we can more holistically address barriers to college completion.” Jordan Wesley, Managing Director of Partnerships, Let’s Get Ready
