Let’s Get Ready (LGR) has partnered with the University of Maine System (UMS) Early College (EC) Program to provide rising high school seniors graduating in 2023 with FREE text-based mentorship and assistance with the college application process. Current college students, trained by LGR, will serve as near-peer mentors and provide guidance on selecting the right colleges, application essays, scholarships, financial aid, and critical deadline reminders.
LGR and the UMS EC Program share a common goal in ensuring Maine’s high school students graduate ready to succeed in college and have support through to college graduation to reach their goals. All seniors that are enrolled in EC courses for the 2022-2023 school year will receive this opportunity, with a focus on low-income and first generation college-bound students.
LGR recently commemorated ten years of service to the Maine community, and is currently serving 2515 high school and college students across the state. Through a collaborative funding model, and by leveraging the generous support of LGR’s donors, this partnership makes it possible to reach more students at this critical moment of pandemic recovery – and we are thrilled to extend our services to even more college-bound students this year.
